The name Soso is a combination of the first letter of the founder’s names. Sandra and Ojay started Simply Soso Design in August of 2017 by turning their passion into a business.

Giving new life to a pre-loved item, making a creative product from an off-cut piece rather than throwing it and inventing functional pieces that help optimizing space; that is Simply Soso Design. The focus is always on sustainability, functionality, and simplicity inspired by nature, especially the Kenyan Coast.

There is a lot of joy by producing items that bring functionality and positive vibes into a customer’s house. Every piece is made with love and attention to details, all handmade by local artisans. To further support the local community, it is the aim to get suppliers from within the community whenever possible.

Simply Soso Design has three product lines:

🤎 #sosohomeware: Functional homeware products, made of locally available materials such as mango wood and sisal. 

🌱 #sosogreen: Household accessories made of upcycled or waste materials. All plastic-free to keep a household green. 

🌟 #sosounique: Furniture line made of either reclaimed wood, off cuts or pieces we save from being used as fire wood.
